Pros

  • Fast Acting
  • Easy to swallow if you have trouble chewing because it dissolves in liquid
  • For some it tastes like ‘fizzy’ water
  • Does not leave residue in teeth or mouth
  • No extra filler ingredients

Cons

  • Not meant for long-term use, especially for people with liver, heart, or kidney problems, have high blood pressure, or other situations where too much sodium may be harmful
  • Effects only last for a short period of time
  • Cannot take as it is, need to mix with water
  • Avoid during pregnancy

How to take

  • Add 1 teaspoonful (5 g) to 3/4 cup of room temperature water (6oz) and drink while the water is bubbling (amounts don’t need to be perfect!)
  • If there is no symptom relief after one dose, a second dose can be taken after 2-3 hours
  • Maximum: twice daily Separate dosing with other medication by 2 hours
  • Would recommend seeing a doctor if symptoms are not resolved within 2 weeks of treatment
